Adnams Beach CleanS

We've been cleaning Southwold Beach at least three times a year since 2003, this year we will be out in force with the help of our members of staff and a super group of volunteers on:

Thank you for the 2024 Beach Cleans and 2025 dates tbc.

To sign up to our Beach Clean mailing list, and to receive news and updates about future events, please fill in the form below with your full name and email address. We will be in touch approximately six weeks before each Beach Clean.

Our Beach Cleans usually start at 10 am. We officially survey the first 100m of our supported stretch of Southwold Beach, and then continue towards the Harbour, with our regular clean. Our Beach Cleans help provide data to The Marine Conservation Society, who hold statistics on beach litter levels across the UK. During every Beach Clean, we collect data on the items found across the first 100m of our supported stretch of Southwold Beach. You'd be amazed at what we find. This data contributes to the Marine Conservation Society's 'Beach Watch Survey,' which records the type and quantity of litter found across the UK.

Places at these events are limited, so please only register if you know you can come. If you sign up and find that you or someone in your group is unable to attend, do let us know via email at beachcleans@adnams.co.uk. This helps us manage the event and ensures we have enough equipment for all participants.

We would encourage you to sign up in advance, as we are unfortunately unable to accept volunteers on the day.

Please be aware that due to the increased interest in our beach cleans you will often be required to work with others in small teams and share equipment.

Please make your way to Gun Hill in Southwold (Primrose Alley, IP18 6HF) between 9:30 am and 10.00 am, to allow sufficient time to register and collect your equipment.

We leave Gun Hill at 10:15 am, following a briefing and obligatory group photograph to mark the event. You can of course opt out if you wish.

We finish the clean at the Harbour Wall car park at 12 pm, where we will be met by an Adnams van, which will transport the equipment and collected litter back to the brewery.

As an annual treat after our final Beach Clean of the year in September, volunteers are invited to join us for complimentary Fish & Chips along with a celebratory drink, at The Harbour Inn (just a 10-minute walk from the finish).

Please note: ALL participants will require a token, which we will provide at the end of the clean to all pre-registered volunteers. These tokens can only be redeemed at The Harbour Inn, IP18 6TA.
