fruity and rich

Planted on ideally located slopes in the northern part of the Madiran appellation, the Tannat grape is able to fully express its typical rich, fresh flavours without the need to add any sulphites. Chez Louisat is an invitation to revisit Madiran where authentic food and great wine are a way of life

Very smooth

Great wine for the price. I've had a few cases of this and keep coming back for more. It's full but not overly fruity, flavoursome but easy going, alcoholic but not noticably so. If you've ever enjoyed Tannat wine then this will not disappoint.

Looking beyond the norm

It was as expected! Dark and fruity and improved if left open for a day or so (saved some for when daughter came round to try)! Will be ordering again!

One to keep

Great wine, if a little young. One for laying down - if you have the time!

A lovely reminder of the Pyrenees

I am not a wine critic by any means, but my memories of drinking Madiran and eating Garbure (Pyrenean vegetable soup) while on walking holidays long ago were revived while reading a book by Fred Vargas (the English version is called "This Poison Will Remain") in which the detective Adamsberg investigates crimes in that region, and a lot of Madiran is drunk. In fact I thought your version of Madiran was smoother and more drinkable than I remembered. I'm happily consuming it with home made Garbure (thanks to my wife) and of course, mountain cheeses. I'll be back.
