Vallformosa is a family-owned winery with a history spanning 150 years. Their focus on quality, innovation and sustainability has led to numerous awards including gold medals at last year’s IWC and IWSC awards. The emphasis of Vallformosa’s production is high quality Cava but since 2017, the winery has partnered with more than 500 growers with unique plots of land in areas such as Terra Alta to produce their range of still wines. Terra Alta or “High Land” lies in the mountains of Tarragona province, an area which Picasso was fond of depicting in his paintings. The altitude, terrain and climate of DO Terra Alta provide the ideal conditions for growing grapes of exceptional quality which are crafted into complex yet approachable wines by the expert hands of the Vallformosa team.
