Fruit selected for this GSM is from two key Grenache vineyards in McLaren Vale, along with old vine Shiraz in McLaren Flat, and a small premium Mourvèdre vineyard in the Sellicks subregion. 12 months in oak adds complexity and balance. A tremendous array of aromas and flavours are on offer– raspberry, plum, blackberry and spicy notes abound, all wrapped up in a beautifully textured palate. It combines the sweet raspberry fruit of the Grenache, rich dark fruits of the Shiraz and the savoury spice of Mourvèdre in perfect harmony. The finish is long, generous and satisfying. Not too heavy, not too light, this GSM is in perfect balance. This wine is so well balanced it lends itself to being incredibly versatile with food. Pan fried chicken breast with a white peppercorn sauce is a fantastic place to start. The name reflects the collaborative, hand-crafted wines and partnerships, made with respect to the environment (Grounded) and ‘Cru’ is a French word meaning ‘growth’.
