Elegant, fresh, and lively.

Elegant, fresh, and lively.

This key wine region in western France follows the course of the Loire River on its long journey through the heart of France, from the inland hills of Auvergne to the plains on the French Atlantic coast near Nantes. The Loire Valley region was favoured for residences by royalty, like Louis XIV, the Sun King, whose symbol is echoed in the map on the bottle label. Adnams Muscadet is produced by Paul Buisse. With their own vineyards close to the charming town of Montrichard and a thriving negociant business, dealing in wines from all over the Loire Valley, they have built an enviable reputation for crafting wines of quality and typicity.

Description

Melon de Bourgogne is a unique grape variety but the name, Muscadet, makes its wines familiar to so many. Adnams Muscadet hails from the stunning Loire Valley, with its ethereal castles, beautiful French villages, and rich winemaking history. This beautifully beachy wine has a real salinity and freshness and flavours of pear and citrus fruits.

How does it taste

Made from 100% Melon de Bourgogne, it is pale yellow in colour with aromas of white flowers, quince, and a hint of salinity. Elegant, yet fresh and lively, its pear and citrus fruits are balanced by a refreshing acidity and an aromatic finish. It is delicious on its own as an aperitif or with seafood, salads, grilled fish, or white meat; the most famous partnership being Moules Frites.

Lovely wine at a reasonable price

This is a nice alternative to sauvignon blanc. A nice aperatif and eminently drinkable.
